BRIDGE OVER MAHAKALI THRU DIPLOMATIC INITIATION: MINISTER SAUD Belauri (Kanchanpur), June 20: Minister for Irrigation Narayan Prakash Saud has said a bridge should be constructed over the Mahakali River through diplomatic initiatives with India. Speaking in a press conference organized by Press Union Kanchanpur at Mahendranagar today, he said, Diplomatic initiatives should be started as the proposed site for construction of the bridge is also a border transit point between the two countries. He stressed the need of an alternative bridge over the Mahakali river as the time of the bridge over the river at Banbasa has nearly ended and the bridge at Tanakpur was also not suitable for transport. The Minister argued that the overall development of the country has been affected due to the lack of an alternative bridge over the Mahakali. He also said works under the Third Phase of the Mahakali Irrigation Project were underway vigorously and that the farmers in Kanchanpur and Kailali districts would be benefited with the completion of this project. Minister Saud said the government was facilitating the constitution writing and expressed the belief that constitution could be issued on time. RSS
