BRING BACK OUR GOALS!!! Goodday my fellow football lover. I was ask this question and i decided to speak my mind and share my humble opponion. What happened to SA born goal machines? I hear this question over and over and over again. Is that a South African problem? Or a general one? To whom are we comparing our goal scoring power to? Well, before many of you get too emotional, we have to put some facts out there and then talk. Goal scorers job (striker) as we knew it had changed in the recent years. But one thing remain the same, you judge a top striker by the ratio of goal scored vs opportunities. This takes me to my point.I spend all my weekend either in the stadium watching the game or in the radio or TV studio analysing the game. What I see is poor goal creating approach in our game, there is no more creativity and innovation on how to create that run to match the pass and score. I have been in games where they were no assist, no chances created or shot on target. All SA top scorers had to midfielders who fed them with good passes (assists). While we are looking at the number of goals, had you have the chance to check who led in assist? That is where our goals are. So to bring back the goals, dont look at the strikers, bring good midfielders back.
