BRISBANE -- Two Daly City teens were left paralyzed by a high-speed crash that sent their car plunging 50 feet down an embankment on San Bruno Mountain, police said. The unnamed boys, who are 16 and 17 years old, remain in intensive care but were expected to survive the injuries they sustained in the June 14 crash. Two other teen boys who were in the car were hurt, but are out of the hospital, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Ferguson said. Investigators have an unconfirmed witness report that the boys were driving at 80-100 mph before they went over the edge of Guadalupe Canyon Parkway, about a half-mile east of Radio Road. The driver told police he swerved to avoid something in the road, though the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
