BRITAIN CAME CLOSE TO A NUCLEAR DISASTER: I found out recently that Plymouth came very close to a nuclear disaster a few days ago due to a very careless Royal Navy worker. APPARENTLY, a worker accidentally caught the firing trigger for a torpedo onboard a NUCLEAR sub base. The torpedo then shot around 100 yards or so above the workers heads before becoming stuck half way inside a container, which more than likely contained either nuclear material or even nuclear warheads. A RN spokesman said that if this torpedo had been armed and it had impacted with any volatile material then Plymouth could have been blown off the map. This is exactly how it was worded in the paper I read the other day. No, we would have had possibly a 1 mile blast radius and clouds of radioactive fallout blanketing the UK and spreading for miles around, just like Chernobyl.
