BROADBAND NETWORKS FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN II, Telepak in Ridgeland, MS Telecommunications company is seeking a Broadband Networks Field Service Technician II who will be based in the Jackson, MS area and responsible for maintaining the broadband network including installing, testing and turning up various types of telecommunications equipment and circuits, maintaining successful network operation, integrity and survivability. Install new DS-1, DS-3, Ethernet, VOIP, OC-n and related services on the network. Test, maintain and provision Tellabs 3/1 DAC’s, Sonet mux’s LMDS, DWDM technologies. Wire Cat5/copper drops inside residential and business locations. Must be computer literate and able to work with Microsoft Office software. Must be willing to work nights and weekends as scheduled and be available by cell phone 24x7 for emergencies. Must be willing to travel and spend time out of town. Travel is required. 5 plus years work experience installing and maintaining fiber optics in the telephony industry or similar experience required. High School Diploma required. Work with local, county & state governments regarding FTTC, FTTH & backbone fiber routes. Must be able to read and understand legal documents & interface with various legal departments. Must be able to conduct negotiations for easement right of way acquisitions for FTTC, FTTH and Fiber route projects. Must have 5 years or more experience in related role within the telecommunications industry. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
