NETBALL A1 RSMU 44 v BBH 32 RSMU - BBH came to play in the wet and with stand-in goalie Kate Phin holding her own in the goal circle, they held a one goal advantage going in to the main break. Ellen Callery came in to the game at half time and immediately her presence was felt. Tammi Klaebe, Brooke Rohde and Nicole Rohde combined well to feed Jess Przyblya, and the flow started to come. RSMU pushed on for a 12 goal win to take home the 2 points. BBH – An even first half with BBH holding a narrow lead at half time. RSMU settled well in the wet conditions in the last half and went on to win comfortably. Best Player: Kate Phin. Incentive: Emma Shattock. A2 46 v BBH 26 RSMU - A tight, defensive contest between both teams punctuated the opening five minutes until the girls acclimatised to the slippery conditions. RSMU made the most of their opportunities, running hard and giving lots of supply to their goalies. Paige Rowett and Bec Allchurch shot beautifully and worked hard to open up a 10 goal lead. BBH fought hard in the second quarter with Chelsea and Jasmin working strongly in the centre court. RSMU regained control and ran out winners by 20 goals in the end. The Bye next week will help everyone to dry out get ready for the final 2 games of the season. BBH – No report. Best Player: Caitlin Drew. Incentive: Jasmin Peters. B2 35 v BBH 36 RSMU - RSMU started well with accurate shooting by Annie Vater at GA. BBH never gave up. The game became extremely tight and messy. BBH capitalised on the mistakes of RSMU to win by 1 goal. BBH – No report. Best Player: Megan Rayson. C1 22 v BBH 49 RSMU - A very strong start by BBH left the Hawks stunned in the first half with accurate shooting by BBH’s Courtney Tippet and Jo Piggott. In the second half, RSMU stepped up the intensity with good defensive pressure by RSMU’s defenders, who had to work hard to give our goalies plenty of opportunity, but just silly unforced errors got the better of us. Well done to BBH and good luck for the rest of the remaining games ahead going into the finals! BBH – BBH dominated the play from the very beginning, their team work and desire for the ball saw them lead comfortably for the entire game. Playing coach Kate Wadlow directed play well, all players worked hard and were strong in both defence and attack. RSMU were accurate in goals when they had a chance, but BBH’s commitment and team work made them the clear winners. A great effort. Best Player: Anna Lehmann. Incentive: Courtney Tippet. C2 38 v BBH 36 RSMU - A very close game between RSMU and BBH made the Hawks fight really hard for a place in the top four coming into finals. Excellent intercepts by Cassandra Lockyer playing WD and great shooting by Stevie-Lee Dutton gave the hawks a well deserved two goal win. A great effort by the entire C2 team! BBH – BBH were very unfortunate to lose this game. The first quarter by both teams was played very well. RSMU goalies shot slightly better in this and the second quarter to have a lead of seven at half time. BBH pulled it together in the third quarter with persistence, determination and effort to have a tied game at the break. The last quarter saw the lead change and RSMU came out on top. A great effort by both teams saw the game played in the best spirits. Best Player: Jodie Stockman. Incentive: Kerry-Anne Kruger. 15U 34 v BBH 28 RSMU - A great game between two teams who were very well matched. Both teams put together some solid passages of play well finished off by some accurate shooting. Well done on a close contest played in great spirits with RSMU getting over the line in the end. BBH – No report. Best Player: Erin Overton. Incentive: Nikki Peters. J1 RSMU 60 V BBH 4 RSMU - Great game by RSMU girls. RSMU were too strong. BBH tried hard all day. BBH – This week BBH played a strong side with accurate shooting from Hayley Busch and Georgie Rowett, keeping defences on the run. BBH kept trying only to be let down by some slow, inaccurate passing and fast opponents. All BBH players tried. Well done on your effort, regardless of the score. Best Player: Caitlin Stockman. Incentive: Madison Millward. J4 RSMU 10 v BBH 20 RSMU – BBH started strongly with great shooting by Georgia Hook at GA. RSMU played better as the game went on. Kelsey Noll for RSMU tried hard all match. BBH were more accurate with their shooting. Good game by all girls. BBH – An awesome start by BBH to have a good lead which kept them in front all game. Great shooting by Georgia Hook, backed up by good movement from Caitlin Squire. BBH defences Gabby Mader, Grace Piggott and Milly Squire worked tirelessly getting some amazing intercepts, which were brought down the court swiftly by mid-courters Stacey Overton and Kloe Berryman, who lead and passed beautifully. We’re very proud. Great team game girls. Incentive: Georgia Hook. BURRA GOLF Winter at its best was experienced at the Burra Golf Club last Saturday although again the worst weather was the hours after golf finished. Thirteen players in all braved the conditions that saw Eddie VanKeulen play controlled golf to return 34 stableford points and win the day from Matt Opperman who counted out Dick Cleland with 33 points. Dave Robinson and Gus Wenzel played a quarter final match in the Bogisch Cup with Gus just outlasting Robby to win 1 up Next Sunday the finals of the Club Championships will be held in all grades and played over 36 holes.
