BROOKLYN Netball Highlights Harsh East Brooklyn cocktail games BREWED on Independence Weekend @ Lincoln Terrace Park..... as CANA League reaches FEVER PITCH.... The East Brooklyn section of New York we so predominantly call LINCOLN TERRACE PARK became a sea of COMPLEXITY and high intense drama over the Independence weekend with the playing of ELEVEN (11) crucial games over two days (Saturday & Sunday). Allyanze Cosmos completed a dramatic rise from the canvas when they steamrolled lowly placed Upsetters 3 (35-22) in the opening Inters 1 game to improve their chances of advancing to the final four when that division reach that stage. In another game Terminators Bolt is consistently knocking on the door to greatness when they upended Islanders 2 (47-24) to move a notch up in that division. In the A2 Division Upsetters 2 CLAWED their way back to supremacy against a never say die Sharecroppers aggregate and ensued in the end (32-27). With the win, they have left this division wide open for anyone to take the lead and hopefully a chance in stealing the Championships. In the first senior game of the evening FLAMEBLAZERS 1 handed Scorchers their 5th straight consecutive loss when they BLAZED past their opponents (55-14). The Scorchers team at this moment should and must be in mourning and a NON CELEBRATORY MELTDOWN. Terminators Tornado kept their hopes and chances of a far fetched slot in the semi finals of the Senior Division when they RUMBLED past a less defiant Pitons 2 team (32-20). A2 Division runaway leaders Allyanze Fusion made light work of FLAMEBLAZERS 2 (42-27) but not before tempers flared on the court and a horendous onslaught between both teams that almost left players in a less somber mood. The intensity of the game almost ended in atrimony and anarchy. Sundays games: The long awaited TENSION RACKED day finally came to the fore with the playing of 5 games worth going miles to see. In no uncertain terms were they as Spice Girls took the lightning out of Terminators Bolt (40-24) to bolster their win/loss ratio. Antillians SLITHERED past Rising Eagles 2 (36-33) in a close contest that without fear or favor had its loose ends of drama on both sides. While the scoring chances of both teams went awry at certain intervals of the game the Antillians team slowed their roll and capitalized on the mistakes of the FLYING MONARCHS. Islanders 1 & Volcanoes 2 went on a BATTLE ROYALE on center court with Islanders 1 prevailing in the end by the slimmest of margins (31-30). A holistic Karen Marx and her team could be seen thanking the one above for the victory and a well deserved one it was for the intricately placed Islanders team in a pool where everyone is KNOCKING ON THE FRONT DOOR TO HISTORY. Survivors 1 had the going easy at first in the first half of their game against Untouchables 2 but mid period lapse by the out of borough representatives nearly allowed the East Brooklyn team back into the encounter as the Bronx Bombers seemed relentless and a bit LETHARGIC in defense. Their better successes came in the third no fourth quarter as they pulled their collective thoughts together and raced away (42-27) winners. With the win they have probably done enough to see them through to the round of 8 and possibly further. The evening could not end without DRAMA BEEN PERSONIFIED... I swear to you not.... If this team wasnt in this division this competition would be a dull, dragged out senseless, full of archaism and lifelessness.... Promoted Senior Division debutants Rising Eagles 1 from the get go faced a MAMMOTH task against a defensive and unbeaten PITONS 1team worth guarding FORTH KNOX and possibly THE WHITE HOUSE. While Pitons had their TWIN TOWERS in defense and literally shut the scoring doors on Eagles, they had little or no flaws with Jolene Christopher and her supporting crew making the necessary shots count. The Eagles had their moments when they could have drawn closer, but poor shooting and circle transitions by both shooters that of Kerry & Krystal forced a CATALOGUE OF ERRORS. Their chances of scoring went AWRY in certain intervals of the game as though the likely term constitute a payable one of DISAPPOINTMENT. Pitons 1 have now taken the lead in the division ahead of Upsetters 1 who have played one match less than the eventual leaders. With nine Premier teams in that division, the chances of some of these teams advancing to a final four realistically is SLIMMER THAN FINDING A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK.
