BSF welcomes Kashmiri students from Bharat Darshan tour Srinagar, September 16, 2013 Two Bharat Darshan Tours for Kashmiri students (Girls & Boys) organized & sponsored by Border Security Force Kashmir Frontier concluded on 16 Sept 2013, with Jenab Taj Mohi-Ud-Din, Hon’ble Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports J&K Government warmly welcoming them at HQr BSF Kashmir Frontier Humhama, in a colorful programme. All the 42 students comprising of 20 girls and 22 boys of varied and remote areas of Kashmir Valley were jubilant at this concluding session and were repeatedly cherishing of their memorable itinerary. Both these tours were flagged off by Shri Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister of J&K Government from Srinagar on 6th September 2013 . These girls and boys from far flung and remote areas of different districts of Kashmir Valley went to South/Central India and during the tours these students visited Bangaluru, Mysore, Delhi, Agra, Gwalior and Jaipur, besides interaction with the high dignitaries. These students also visited places of historical and cultural importance in these cities and experienced a memorable journey by Air. In Delhi, these students called-on Shri M Rama Chandran, MOS (Home) at his residence alongwith Shri Subhash Joshi, IPS, Director General Border Security Force. During these tours students carried the message of peace and love from the valley to the rest of India. These tours provided a unique opportunity to the students to have a glimpse of rich cultural and historical heritage of their country and it also enabled them to gain first hand knowledge about various developments taking place in different parts of the country. Jenab Taj Mohi-Ud-Din, Hon’ble Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports ( J&K) Government also presented them mementoes and gifts during this function. As a goodwill gesture BSF Kashmir Frontier has so far sent 691 students of varied and remote areas of Kashmir Valley to Bharat Darshan tours. This is a part of BSF’s programme of reaching out to the Kashmiri youth. During the tours, these students were provided with free lodging, boarding, clothing and supplemented by pocket money for enabling them to enjoy the visit.
