BSNL-FDI-INDIA PRIVATIZATION MATHS FOR BEGINNERS 1. BSNL was a 10,000 Crore profit making entity till the elderly Oxfordian was used to turn it around 2. And what a turnaround! In about 5 years since, BSNL lost about Rs. 10,000 crore/annum - totalling about Rs. 60,000 Crores (Loss of profits, plus etc.!) 3. BSNL was so turned around that it is unlikely to post profit before 2018 (see link below) 4. From 2015 to 2018, total loss of profits(atleast) Rs.30,000 crores and new $s(?) 5. Now BSNL and MTNL need about Rs. 40,000 crores (21k is debt alone!) infusion for revival else their net worth will be wiped off completely by 2018 (see link below) 6. Total cost to country: add 2,4 and 5: 60k+30k(min)+40k = 1,30,000 Crores (estimated, minimum) 7. Total FDI that India got in year 2013 (see RBI link below): ~$20 Bn = ~1,20,000 Crores (prev. $/Re rate was lower) 8. More than ALL FDI India received around LAST year will be wiped out by BSNL alone! 9. Draw your own conclusions - figure out what they are doing to our dear India (tears!). Where has the money gone, for what are we raising our debts, which future generations will have to pay dearly?
