BUHARI WILL HELP RESTORE NATION’S TERRITORIES NOW BEING DISMEMBERED UNDER PDP-LED FG-FASHOLA …As Governor continues campaign for Ambode, other APC candidates at Ikorodu Mega Rally The train of the campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State on Saturday berthed in Ikorodu with the Governor Babatunde Fashola stating that the Presidential Candidate of APC, General Muhammadu Buhari as a former military leader will restore the Nigerian territories which is already being dismembered under President Goodluck Jonathan. The Governor who spoke at the Mega Rally of the All Progresives Congress which took place at the C&S Primary School, Ogolonto in Ikorodu and also had in attendance the Gubernatorial Candidate, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, candidates of the party and leaders said Nigeria was handed over as a whole country to President Jonathan six years ago but today several parts of the country have been lost to insurgents, a problem to which the PDP-led Federal Government has remained clueless. He added that in military circles, General Muhammadu Buhari is referred to as an upright man and that the appellation speaks volume of his ability to bring back Nigeria from the precipice which corruption has pushed it into. He said when he was much younger, Nigerian soldiers enjoyed so many benefits like uniforms provided for them free of charge but that today the average Nigerian soldier is disillusioned with the welfare package they now get, stating that a General Buhari would ensure that all these are restored if elected into office. The Governor reminded residents of the State of the pains they went through under a PDP led Federal Government in the quest to create additional Local Governments, adding that the same political party could now not be trusted to safeguard the continued existence of such Local Government councils. Governor Fashola said the election of a General Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo at the federal level and Akinwunmi Ambode at the state would protect the Local Governments in the state which have continued to bring development closer to the people. According to Fashola, the power of the ballot is the only power that the residents have to put in place their choice of leaders, adding that the people do not have the power of guns or ammunition. The Governor said it is when the people demonstrate their power through the ballot box by voting massively for the APC, unfit candidates from the opposition would know that they have spoken. He maintained that the ongoing campaigns of the APC would be a non-violent one because the APC will win the elections outright and that the ballots and votes will speak for the party. While urging the residents of the State to go and collect their Permanent Voters Card, the Governor said the APC has always been victorious against the PDP in Lagos State, adding that the same feat would be repeated at all levels in 2015. He added that the re-election of APC into power in the state would ensure the provision of more roads and infrastructure like Ibeshe road, Awolowo road, Igbogbo Housing Estate, Imota Rice Mill, Erikorodo Poultry Farm, Maternal and Child Care Hospital, the Ipakodo Ferry Terminal and the new Oba’s Palace among several other accomplishments of the administration in the area. Governor Fashola said it was regrettable that the PDP candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje is displaying his ignorance of governance with some of the assertions he has been making such as his contention that Lagos spends only three percent of its budget on education, adding that by the last Budget; Lagos earmarked 16 percent of its budget on Education. He added that this is in addition to several education related projects that are domiciled in different ministries with budgetary allocations like the school milk project which is in the Ministry of Health, the school environmental cleanup budget in the Ministry of Environment, the school repairs budget in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and the deworming project budget which is also in the Ministry of Health. Noting that the administration has consistently embarked on ways of making life more meaningful to the populace, the Governor said recently another set of 30,000 young people were trained in different skills like sewing, stitching, soap making and powder making to make them self employed and that when the need to provide soap for pupils who were returning to schools came up recently, it was the new trainees that produced the soaps. While addressing the party supporters, the All progressives Congress (APC)Governorship Candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode noted that since 2007, when Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN, assumed office the State have continued to grow in leaps and bounds with accompanying developments in the State. “What do we want in the next four years? Do we want trial and error? Do we want them to come and do it the way they are doing it in Abuja? So what do we do? We must vote the All Progressives Congress (APC), you know we have brought so much to road construction in all the axis, we are going to improve on it, we will go further to the inner roads, we will make Ikorodu and other communities including Ijede and everywhere to be like Lagos Island and this is our goal,” he added. He also gave a commitment, “We will take care of all our women, we will take care of all our youths, we are going to create more jobs, and beyond that we make life more comfortable and meaningful for all of you”. He implored everyone to go out and collect their Permanent Voters Cards and vote for General Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo on the 14th February and repeat the same on 28th February by voting for Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and Dr Oluranti Adebule for continuity in Lagos State. The rally also featured the presentation of APC flags to the Senatorial Candidates for Lagos East, Mr Gbenga Ashafa, the House of Representatives, Ikorodu Federal Constituency candidate, Mr Jimi Benson, and the two House of Assembly candidates for Ikorodu, Mr E.A. Solaja and S.O.B.Agunbiade by the Chairman of the APC in Lagos State, Chief Henry Ajomale who was supported by other leaders of the party. Prominent among those who were also present at the rally which attracted a huge attendance by party faithful were the First Lady of Lagos State, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola, wife of the APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, APC Women leader, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Nelson and leaders of the party in Ikorodu including Chief Kaoli Olusanya and Chief Olorunfunmi Bashorun.
