BUO ANG LOOB KO... Although the President sounded like he was reading the telephone directory particularly the first part of his SONA, where he cited the accomplishments of his administration, the second part was quite meaningful as he said the things that were being awaited. First, the President has made it absolutely clear that he would continue what he has started to its rightful conclusion. Hence, the anticorruption agenda and his campaign for good governance would continue. Hence, we could expect the unmasking of more suspects, the filing of more plunder suspects against them, and the continuation of the pursuit of justice. We could also expect that the transformation of the bureaucracy into one with less corruption, which is the basis of his mandate in the 2010 elections. Second, the President also drew the line. Those critics who kept on spewing fire and brimstone in the media are not against him. In his own words, they are against the Filipino people. They have not accomplished much to help the people because their preoccupation is to bring him down. Third, the buo ang loob ko line to confront all the challenges against his presidency showed the deep moral conviction that he has been doing is for public good. It has also reflected his moral courage. The President was obviously hurt by all those criticisms against his leadership. But he has not been deterred by all those criticisms. He still has the core of support for him. And it is intact. There is no doubt he would recover lost ground. Ignore those Cassandras, who will always say the opposite or find fault on whatever they experience. Ignore those doomsayers, who will only keep on drawing all those scenarios of doom and gloom.
