BURNZYS PRE SEASON RANKINGS BREAKDOWN 1.Havoc – Strengths: REIGNING CHAMPS - Athletic O line, legit top tier wide receivers across the board and a QB that keeps his head downfield no matter the pressure. Defensively they bring great pressure and swarm to the ball Weaknesses: In this league they’ve shown very few, losing to the Devils in regular season, but redeeming themselves when it counts in the playoffs. They are their biggest enemy, over thinking schemes instead of doing what they do best and playing ball, just like any gun slinger, the QB has a cannon and will take shots downfield and squeeze balls into tight coverage. 2.Devils Strengths: they’ve been around the block and ran this league for many years. One of the best QBs in the state, paired with great route running receivers and athletic olineman. Their greatest strength is chemistry. Their d line can be relentless at times and brings great pressure Weaknesses: Getting older shows for this team on defense, giving up 28 points to dick adgates in the regular season and having shoot outs with Havoc on a regular basis with games being decided on extra points. If their defense can get one or two stops, they may have never lost the #1 spot. 3.Crown Strengths: seasoned veterans, Jesse keeps a team close to the top at all times, he keeps a core of 4-7 guys, and reloads the interchangeable parts. Two out of three seasons they have tied or lost to Havoc in triple OT. They have the best WR in the game in Floyd, and young hungry DBs that they picked up from the little Youngstown teams that have broken up. Biggest strength is Jesse puts a roof over the scheduler makers head and puts J’s on his feet so they have gotten by with an easy schedule Weaknesses: you never know who’s showing up for Crown, attendance and 9am games are their weakness 4.Wolf Pack Strengths: Playmaking WRs, small quick receivers that can break away if you whiff on their flag, seasoned veterans that know the game, a linebacker that doesn’t miss, an aggressive d-line and playmakers in the secondary. Their QB has a strong arm and can take off when there’s green grass. Weakness: their DBs and receivers are all 5’7 and a buck fifty, soft play in the past hurt them, the QB is still learning the game, he has the athletic tools but play calling can be repetitive, will pass on taking the 10-15 yard run to try and make a giant throw downfield which is either dropped or overthrown. Dline can be over aggressive and miss easy sacks by not breaking down 5.Swarm Strengths: AGGRESSION, a physical team that goes 100 MPH, to the point they almost take out their own players. Playmakers at every level, oline, dline, secondary, receivers. Weaknesses: they SHOULD be ahead of Wolfpack, however losing their QB, Im curious to see what they have when the season starts, with CJ at the helm they’re a very capable team and still a top 3 contender. When Cj’s arm is going, it makes his legs that much more dangerous. If he can get short accurate passes to the receivers Swarm already had, look out once teams try to jump them routes and he goes deep. 6. Rocks Strengths – PHYSICAL, they are a physical team and play hard every play, you don’t break many plays on them, they swarm to the ball, you’re generally pretty sore after playing them Weakness – they’ve been toying around at the QB positon, their offense hasn’t gotten clicking yet, they have big lineman and physical receivers but haven’t translated it into many points yet. They’re hit or miss on bringing a squad, the season they struggled, the playoffs they were 20 deep with ballers. 7. Hippos Strengths – I’ve HEARD they’re physical and play hard, one of the top teams in Pittsburgh’s league, that’s all I know so far Weaknesses- I have not seen them yet 8. Xmen – Xmen are back!!!!! I’m starting them at the 8 spot, they have the potential to move up 4 spots or back 4 spots, they’re players had to find life after they broke up and I don’t know if they were able to reunite. 9.Elite – giving them this ranking based purely off having Lucyk at QB, I don’t know if this will bea team like run and shoot, or if he did some recruiting. 10. Dick Adgates Strength – my favorite cinderella team from last season, they have big lineman and speed and get by on pure hustle and chemistry. These guys have played ball together for a long time Weaknesses – lack playmakers, their biggest threats are their lineman and scrambling QB, if you can contain the QB and cover Jason, you can stop them. 11.Bulldawgs Strengths: been around a long time, have great lineman that play hard, have one of the best rushers in the game on their team in KD. Redd can block, catch, and move for a big cat. Weakness: lack of playmakers, they lost Julian Hayes their shutdown corner and best receiver, Julian can shut down half the field and they are going to miss him. 12. Sharks – Strengths – physical play and hustle, they attack with reckless abandon on defense. Weakness – they miss flags in the secondary and give up big plays to scrambling quarterbacks. Still trying to figure out their offense, fairly new to the game but mixed with seasoned vets at important positions. 13. Bears – great athletes across the board, when their QB shows up they have a legit offense, when they don’t, they’re unorganized and undisciplined 14. Aresenal – another pure athletic team, they survive on big plays, either a great run by the QB or a deep bomb and someone getting Mossed. They won’t put together long drives, it’s big play or bust. 15. Assassins – Organized team, well disciplined, they lack pure athletes, win games on their knowledge of the game, their weird offense with 5 people in the backfield throws off many teams, lots of crossing patterns and rub routes to set picks, but it can be effective in the B division 16. DarkSiders – young fiery team, love their energy and excitement, they are still learning the game but I expect big strides. They need lineman like no other. 17. Untamed – Untamed is just that, untamed, wild boys that hustle and can break big plays at any moment, speed across the board, they block downfield and look to take your head off. They are also unorganized and undisciplined and give up big plays, run a man coverage defense which won’t fly in flag football. 18. Dtip 19 Bullies 20. Backyard Brawlers 21. Downtown Café 22.
