BUS STORY: This week, driving the bus was pretty uneventful, that is, until today around noon. My lunch is from 11:00-12:00 and then its time to take the regulars home or wherever they want to go. I had taken my lunch regulars home when I got a call from dispatch to go pick up a lady and take her to Super C, so I did. I decided instead of going back to park at the Senior Center to wait for her to call me back to take her home or go steal wifi from Eileen at the Silver Orchid, which by-the-way, she and Lori are leaving for Market tomorrow so be sure to go in next week for her NEW STUFF, that I would just stay put there at Super C and wait on the lady shopping for groceries. I sat there about 10 minutes when I heard a little knock on the doors and thinking I was going to see the lady, I saw a lady known throughout Lindsay by one name only, Brenda. When I opened the doors to see what she wanted, she looked up at me with puppy dog eyes and asked, Myself, will you please take me to the beauty shop? I didnt understand her so I said, Im sorry, what did you say? I said, Myself will you please take me to the beauty shop? I was kinda frustrated and embarrassed at the same time because I had no clue what she meant or was saying. Brenda, Im sorry, tell me again what you said? BLEEP! I SAID MISS ELF WILL YOU TAKE ME TO THE BLEEP BEAUTY SHOP!?!?! YOURE SANTAS ELF AINT YA? THIS time, I heard AND understood her LOUD AND CLEAR and I was making the road hot trying to get her to her 1:00 appointment at the same place, Mary, gets her hair done and for the same price, free. When we pulled into the parking lot and I opened the doors for her to get off, she patted me on the shoulder and said, Thanks Elf, see ya! And with that she got off and started towards the door of the beauty shop. I did my normal aggravating two honks and waved and she turned and smiled and waved back and then waved me on...not sure what that was about, but one thing I am sure of, I love my job.
