BUSINESSES OF THE DAY - TUESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER. SHIPLEY INDOOR MARKET HALL When was the last time you actually looked round the Indoor Market Hall? or are you one of the many people who use it as a short cut through the town. The next time you are going through, just take a couple of minutes to walk round and have a look at the businesses and stalls that are situated within the Market. There is an excellent value for money and fantastic food cafe. This is situated at the bottom of the stairs and has been established ever since the market was opened in the 60’s. The present owners are friendly, welcoming and extremely good at their job. There is a sweet shop that has also been around for a long time and you will find all sorts of sweets on offer here. A new pet shop has recently opened and is ready and waiting to welcome new customers. There is an excellent computer store DC Computers where Dean will take you through anything you want to know about your computer. They build and repair computers in addition to selling spares and accessories for your computer/laptop. Watch batteries can be fitted by Val at Time Zone, again been established so long in the market she is almost part of the furniture, watches, clocks and lots of other things available here as well. There is a wool shop run by Ralph and Dorothy who know the business inside out and have also been here for so long that the market wouldn’t be the same without them. Dudleys Book Shop - well what can we say - Dudley is just Dudley and is definitely part of the market. He is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and all the latest paperbacks are available and he offers a half price return service on all his sales. Dudley also sells puzzle books and jigsaws. Browns Jewellers is also another well established businesses in the market hall and Priceguard hardware and general store needs no introduction. If you haven’t been in the Market Hall for a long time then there are new businesses that just might take your fancy or that you are not aware of. There is a new Haberdashery shop which is situated opposite the Wool Corner and is run by a local couple Linda and Graham, Mont Veroux cosmetics is also a new company and sells lots of potions and lotions including SBC cosmetics. There is an E-cig shop which is nicely building up regular customers, this is situated in the corner of the market at the bottom of the stairs. Jimmy is at the bottom of the stairs with his DVDs and games - certainly worth a visit. If you are looking for reasonably priced good quality second hand furniture then look no further you will find it in the Market Hall, lots to choose from i.e. mirrors, suites, drawers, tables and much more. The Comic Store has just relocated from a unit inside the market to a shop which is on the outside of the market but is technically still in the Market Hall. A little bit Xtra is also a computer accessories shop which also has access through to Priceguard the hardware shop on the outside of the rear market entrance. If we have forgotten anyone then please forgive us and let us know. But please do try and give it a try for shopping and not just for a thoroughfare. You may just be pleasantly surprised. We would also appreciate it if you mentioned that you had found them through Shipley Shopping. Most of the shops are open from 9.00 but some open slightly later (around 10.00). There is also a photo booth for having your passport photos taken. APOLOGIES FOR QUALITY OF PHOTOS - they were not taken by us - we are on the case and will be producing some better photos.
