BUXA FORT is a fort of located at West Bengal. The fort was built by Sangaldwip, the ruler of Kamtapur. In later years, the Koch kings took possesion of the fort before it was seized by the Bhutan King to protect the Silk Route. The fort was handed over to British in 1865. British rebuilt the fort and later it was used as a high security jail. Netaji was said to have been imprisoned here for some time.
