BUYERS BE CAUTIOUS! Ive been advised by the POLICE to inform Facebook admin and its members of the following incident. The day before Christmas eve I was conned out of my little boys Christmas money, which was given to him, by his 86 year old nanna. I met LORRAINE BEECH through the site, I sold her a tv and she was selling me an Xbox 360 slim 250gb with 2 controllers and games (call of duty black ops, mw3, call of duty ghosts, Fifa 14,) she swore blind they were in excellent condition, boxed and working perfectly, I was told I would need to wait 2 weeks for them, until 23rd Dec as she couldnt sell them before or else her son would click on that she was buying him an Xbox one...during this time I helped her out by listing items of her sons on my ebay, gumtree and Facebook account, I did this as a thank you on behalf of my little boy. She wanted £30 for both an headset and fifa 15...I made her £30 for the headset alone...the 22nd Dec came and she messaged to say her son wanted to keep the headset which I understood so I apologized to the buyer (who like me, not wanting to spoil her sons Christmas surprise had also agreed to wait until the 23rd Dec). We exchanged many messages and she seemed decent. She was due to arrive at mine for 12:30 on the 23rd, but she knocked my door at 10am (I now feel to catch me of guard) she said Ive had to come early. I opened the box to check and I could see through the foam the xbox, just the tops of 2 controllers and the game cases slotted in tightly, she said you can see its all there hun and I asked her.. its definitely all working and good like you told me, isnt it? she said yes it is, you can trust me! and if you want it you need to hurry as if not then I have another buyer, being early and unexpected my little boy had seen the box so I specifically asked, if theres anything wrong can I contact you and bring it back and she said yes, of course you can. She left and after 5 minutes my little boy started to open the box, smiling I told him thats for Christmas son and it needs to go to Santa! I nipped in the kitchen and I thought I could hear him crying, Ive gone back in to find him with tears down his face holding a controller with a gaping big hole in it, I took out the other controller to find that its all been chewed on...(I could only see the top of the controllers when previously opened) I put batteries in both and neither controllers work....the lot is in rubbish condition and the Xbox isnt a 250gb....and the games are completely different, she has given my little boy (PES 6, old guitar hero etc, so old games instead of the fairly recent games he was expecting such as cod ghosts). I messaged her straight away to say my son is really sad and I asked for her to come take it back and she said NO sold as seen, if you dont want it throw it in the bin!! Ive called the police and been given a crime/ log number (theyre looking into it, but this may be classed a civil matter, Im hoping (using the exchanged messages) to prove her criminal intent but its likely it will cost me to take her to court, if thats what it takes then so be it) I feel stupid, I completely fell for it! It never crossed my mind that this woman who has children of her own would do this my child, I dont know how anybody could do this to a child?!). Its a shame she hasnt the decency to show the same consideration for my 5 year old, that I showed her son. My little boys completely devastated, I feel really terrible, Ive apologized to him for mummy being a big dummy, for being too trusting and for not being more careful! Sadly Ive learnt the hard way and now I know for sure you cant trust anybody, unless of course you know them well. I have written this in the hopes it might prevent other children and their parents from heartache... xx
