BVPD is proud to announce the hiring of Elizabeth Libby Legg as the Departments Deputy Chief. With 30 years of law enforcement experience, Captain Legg will be a valuable asset to the department and the Buena Vista community. Before coming to the city, Captain Legg was serving as police chief for Colonial Beach, VA. Prior to that she served as Ferrum College police chief after serving with Roanoke, VA police department for 22 years, working her way up to lieutenant before leaving to take the Ferrum chiefs job. Captain Leggs first project will be to begin the departments accreditation process to become a state accredited law enforcement agency. Please welcome Captain Legg to the community.
