BWV 214 - Today, November 9, 2013 Johann Sebastian Bach in 1685 ~ 1750 Cantata Tönet, ihr Pauken! Erschallet, Trumpets! (Tuonate, tamburi , risuonate trombe !) Cantata also called the Queen and is subtitled musical drama. The cantata was written to celebrate the birthday of Maria Josepha of Austria, wife of Augustus III, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. Was performed for the first time on December 8, 1733, probably at the Cafe Zimmermann of Leipzig, where Bach was performing regularly with his Collegium Musicum. ( By La Pasqua di Bach )
