BYC Win The Double....2013 LFA DOUBLE CHAMPIONS!!!!! CONGRATSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) have finally ended their long wait for the Liberia Football Association Top Flight Championship. BYC did so Wednesday at the Unification Town Stadia by beating Mighty Blue Angels 3-1 in the presence of a huge audience many of whom were from Monrovia. Trokon Myers scored twice in each half, while right back Malachi Coker added a another to give BYC the 2013 LFA First division big trophy. That result plus LISCR FC’s defeat at the hands of Nimba United in Sanniquelle confirmed BYC as champions of the LFA League for the first time in their sixteen years history. BYC took home the cup on fifty-four points, that four points ahead of LISCR FC who lost to Nimba United to surrender the title. BYC now completes the 2013 Liberia football Association league season as double champions after winning the Knockout final on Sunday against Fatu FC 6-0. Mighty Blue Angels started the game the brightest and they should have been in the lead under just 2 minutes, but Dede McClaine attempt on goal after dribbling Mulbah Urey was thwarted by the playing pitch as his legs slipped as he tried hitting the ball in the net. Rockey Robert and Jerry Cole also had spate chances to put the home side in the lead, but excellent defending denied them. Trokon Myers got BYC in front on 24 minutes when he slotted home a Queejay continental passed. Malachi Coker added the second on the 41st minutes to end the half two zero. Thomas Myers came from the Bench 10 minutes in the second half to put some hope into the home fans as he pulled one for Mighty Blue Angels, but four minutes after that, Trokon Myers added his second of the match to give BYC a 3-1 win. That game was much entertaining than the Liberian FA Cup final on last Sunday. The BYC squad were presented the big LFA Cup and presented medals and crowned as 2013 Champions. Speaking to reporters after the game, BYC Sit-In-Coach, Robert Lartey said his critics should now throw away their criticism. Other results on Decider Wednesday, Liberian Darling Club, Invincible Eleven IE defeated Fatu FC 2-0 at the Blue Field in the PHP Community. Monrovia Club Breweries whipped relegation bond, Gedi and Sons 2-1 at the ATS. Jubile FC lost 2-1 to Watanga FC at the NBD Stadium in Kakata, and Ganta Black Star held Oilers to a 1-1 draw at the Ganta Stadia. WHAT A SWEAT END TO LFA 2013 SEASON!!!
