BYE BYE BRAZIL; WELCOME BBPL [BAD BELLE PREMIER LEAGUE] Finally my brethren, the #worldcup is over. And yours sincerely have decided to do the recap of my favourite world cup moment. After reading through my boss, Fayoyiwa Samson Babajides world cup recap, I deemed it fit that I should do justice to it as well. Uhmm, where do I start? Can I forget the anthem of Brazil in a rush? Never! It sounds like Hymn 419 followed by the recitation of Psalm 119 and then ending it with some sort of argument. How can one forget Louis van Gaals tactical dexterity in a flash? With a few seconds to go, he summoned Tim Krul to play the Costa Ricans mind which sent the Dutch through to the semis. He forgot that against the Argies though. I hope he forgets it often at Old Garage once he takes over at Man Utd (#bbpl). The mundial gave birth to some stars to watch out for in the future; Memphis Depay, Joel Campbell, Georgino Wijnaldum just to mention but a few. And Paul Pogba! Oh, how that guy can play football! Whatever shit Sir Alex Ferguson and sons were smoking when they let him go must be a tough dose. He is the perfect box to box midfielder. James Rodriguez and Columbia showed the world what it means to play as a team. Ron Vlaar showed guile and strength in defence. Here is a guy that struggled all through last season at Villa. And Daley Blind is not blind. Ask the Spaniards about his vision status. How can I forget the world cup poster boy, Neymar? For a 22 year old, he absorbed the pressure and played his mind through till he was zunigad. Barcelona should find a way to sign the Neymar that plays for Brazil. *oops*. Oh Miroslav Klose! Silent achiever, gentle jack, super legend. Equalled Ronaldo De Limas record in his backyard and set a new one with Ronaldo DJing in the commentary box. Has there ever been a world cup where the shot stoppers turned up like this one? Dont think so. Who do you leave out? Guillermo Ochoa, Vincent Enyeama, Tim Howard, Kaylor Navas and ofcourse, Snr. Goalie Manuel Neuer! Neuer showed the world why he is the best in the business. The tricky ones were not left out. Robben was the epitome of danger, tearing opponents apart with his take ons. Lionel Messi carried Argentina out of the group stage. Not the Messi we used to see in Barca colours, but without him, Argentina would have been out in the group stage. How can I forget Michael Babatunde? Quite a revelation for the Super Quails. Onazi wey break im hand, there is God ooo. Casillas was poor, Pique got shakirad before the tourney, Mikel is a parafootballer anyway, Moses played as though he was playing for D.C. Primary School, Erunmu, Musa and Gervinho thought they were in for a dribbling contest, the English yoyos disgraced the Queen while they sang God Bless The Queen, Mario Balotelli stopped playing football and started thinking about kissing the Queen, David Luiz turned to a playmaker in defense, Xavi lost his deft touches, Costa turned to coaster bus, Pepe renewed his madness like BIS, Cristiano Ronaldo turned the pitches in Brazil to Hollywood red carpet, Alex Song won the golden fist award and Luis Suarez won the golden teeth award. The coaches were not left out too. Scolari disgraced Brazil, LvG played dice with his tactics (a la eyi je eyi o je), Roy Hodgson remained clueless, Fabio Capello remained consistent as a flop, Stephen Keshi embarrassed his community, Jose Pekerman shined with Columbia, Didier Deschamps submitted his CV among the world elite young managers and ofcourse Joachim Loew became a Legend! So many talking points within just 32 days. After a careful analysis of each player, I have come up with my team of the tournament as well as my own individual awards. GK - Manuel Neuer RB - Phillip Lahm CB - Matt Hummels CB - Ron Vlar LB - Daley Blind DM - Javier Mascherano CAM - Toni Kroos RMF - Arjen Robben LWF - James Rodriguez FWD - Lionel Messi FWD - Thomas Muller Golden Glove - Manuel Neuer Golden Ball - Thomas Muller Golden Boot - James Rodiguez Young Player of The Tournament - Oscar Coach of The Tournament - Joachim Loew Flop of The Tournament - Eden Hazard Disgrace of The Tournament - Luis Suarez, Pepe and Alex Song Anthem of The Tournament - Brazil National Anthem Best Supportes - Argentine Fans Best Jersey - Holland Blue Shirt Worst Jerseys - Super Quails and Belgium Goal of The Tournament - James Rodriguez vs Columbia *whao!* Pundits of The Tournament - All of you on this forum.
