BYPU Blocks Major Road In Bida Members of the Bida Youth Progressive Union came out in large numbers in the early hours of today to block the Dzukogi Masaba-Landzun Road that leads from the Dzukogi Masaba area through the Landzun Bridge to the FMC. This is a major road inside Bida metropolis and the sudden blocking of the by a large and unprecedented number of Bida youth have not only startled the Bida Local Government Council authorities but have also scared them. The visibly angry youth refused to give in to the demands of both the police and messengers from the Chairman of Bida Local Government who asked the youth to disperse from the scene of the road block with the promise that they will immediately repair the road. The President of the Bida Youth Progressive Union replied the Chairman Bida Local Government that the youth will not leave the place or stop the road block until the work on repairing the road starts right before their very eyes. And, the police are afraid of the very large number of angry youth. At last the Chairman Bida Local Government Area was able to beg the executive members of the BYPU to come to a meeting for a dialogue at the Bida Local Government Secretariat. The executives of BYPU are right now involved in a meeting with the Chairman at the Bida Local Government Secretariat while the large number of angry youth remained behind in continuation of the road block as they await the result of the meeting.
