Baby Jack this morning. Hes so very well today and surprising his cardiologist. His congestion has decreased quite a bit, which they are surprised by because yesterday he was quite congested. So far his heart sounds great too, which leads the doctors to believe that the tricuspid valve repair was successful. :) He appears a little less swollen in his face but still a little fluid overloaded, which is increasing his blood pressure. But this is to be expected after the Glenn. Jack is breathing over the vent now but because of the excess fluid they havent extubated just yet although hes a great pee-er (?) so hes getting that fluid out pretty quickly. They are weaning him off of the vent now and hope to extubate this afternoon. Jack is very wiggly and every time he hears his parents voices he squirms. Hes had to have extra sedatives because hes too alert for his own good right now :) But they will wean off sedatives as he is starting to be weaned off the vent so that he can better breathe on his own. Please continue to pray for a quick and smooth recovery for the little man and continued strength for his parents.
