Baby N update: Noah had emergency surgery yesterday to fix a suspected hernia. The hernia was much more severe than expected, and a portion of his intestines had to be removed. Noah has been resting since, but this morning he vomited quite a bit of bile (which apparently can be a side effect of intestinal surgery, although not particularly common), so a tube was put in his nose to relieve the excess water etc. in his system instead of him having to vomit. He also still have an IV drip. It was originally going through his foot but now theyve got it in his hand because his leg was starting to swell. Its hard to watch our little guy go through all this pain of constantly being poked & prodded. He cries every time a nurse comes near him, and we have to restrict his movement because of all the tubes. Hes a already pulled out his nose tube once. Poor guy just wants to be held & to eat, but doc says no milk for a few days until his intestines heal up. Im furiously pumping to make sure my supply keeps up. This has been one of the hardest weeks of our lives, but I am thankful that we have so much support from all around the world, and that Noah was able to get surgery right away, and for all the love from people who have visited us already. We love & appreciate all our family & friends & know that we are really very blessed. Please continue to pray for Noah to recover quickly, and that there is no lasting damage to his testicle (yes, Im asking you to pray for my sons balls!), and also that hospital will take it easy on us when we get the final bill!! xx
