Cheryl F-V and husband Jean-Bernard layer on the winter warmers to leave X Factor as Mel B is brave in sleeveless dress Mel B looked like she would be the next victim of Cheryl Fernandez-Versinis throat cold on Saturday night as she left the X Factor in just a sleeveless dress. But when it came to fighting infection, Cheryl wasnt taking any chances as she and husband Jean-Bernard played it safe in oversized coats. It was feared that the 31-year-old might not make the evening show, after coming down with strep throat earlier in the week but it didnt look like she was suffering when she was dolled up for the main event. Looking like she was under strict instructions from the doctor, and her attentive husband, Cheryl hid beneath a fur-lined hood as she left Fountain Studios later that night. Changing out of her stunning blue evening gown, the singer wore ripped jeans and ankle boots as she layered on the winter accessories to make her exit with Jean-Bernard. Her spokesperson told MailOnline on Saturday morning: Cheryl is feeling better and will make the live show tonight. On Thursday Cheryl had tweeted: Sorry for my absence on here the past few days. I have been so sick trying to be better for sat. Fighting fit, Mel smiled as she followed the judging panel out and headed home in just her Topshop waist coat dress, despite the November temperatures. Also feeling relaxed after the Saturday night show, was Simon Cowell who loosened up post-event with a beer, which he held as he exited the venue with girlfriend Lauren Silverman. After all, Simon left for another night as the judge with the most acts still in the competition. It was Louis who should have been in low spirits after Simons singers Fleur East, Ben Haenow and Stevi Ritchie had survived the elimination, based on public votes, and Only The Young headed home. Ben Haenow had taken a risk with a Whitney Houston song on Saturday night, which judges Cheryl and Mel thought hadnt paid off. Clearly it had, as Ben left the studios jubilant and waving to the cameras before pausing for fan pictures outside. Viewers were entertained by Emeli Sande and David Guetta on the night and the pair were all smiles once the performance was over later that night. Emeli looked gothic in a black lace dress and matching floral headband but later switched into a comfortable, long cardigan and jeans.
