Baby please come home. Quick afternoon update on Deonna - TopicsExpress

Baby please come home. Quick afternoon update on Deonna Keiser she has finally been moved to the rehabilitation unit at Swedish. Again. We had hoped for someplace closer to home but they still would like to keep her near the doctors who performed her surgery. Not to mention their rehabilitation facility is one of the best around. It makes the seemingly endless trips back and forth from the hospital a little easier knowing that she is getting such good care. The last couple of weeks have been really hard on Dee. The heart surgery set her back much further than expected. She is just starting to feel better the last couple of days. She had been in a lot pain and know one could quite figure out why. The doctors/nurses tossed out a bunch of possible reasons but it is pretty hard to pin point when she cannot communicate where or what is hurting. It might be one of the worst feelings in the world having to watch her suffer and not even being able to figure some way to help. Mimi is a trooper and pretty much has not left Deonnas side in almost two weeks while she has been in so much pain. She is at the number one facility in the NW for treating neurological trauma and they cannot communicate with her any better than we can. This is the scariest part for when we can eventually bring her home. We had hoped that she would be released by Christmas. It does not look like that is in the cards now short of a minor miracle. Barring any setbacks the nurses have set us up with a haul pass so that she may come home for a few hours on Christmas Eve and then if she is not to tired hopefully again on Christmas Day. She cannot stay the night but it will be her first time visiting home in almost 2 months. This will be a pretty great Christmas for our family with Mom home for the first time. Sorry for the sporadic updates but there is just never enough time in the day to get everything done. Hopefully now with the surgery behind her it will be a lot smoother sailing for our sweet Dee moving into the new year.
