Babycake threw a real tantrum this morning. Her Baba and I were - TopicsExpress

Babycake threw a real tantrum this morning. Her Baba and I were trying not to laugh, because is was just so cute. Real tantrum. Not because she was in pain or discomfort, but that she didnt want her clothes on, flaring her chubafabuluxe arms and all to protest the notion of not being naked. How could such a little person have such strong and loud voices? With the most adorable facial expressions making her case heard? Too bad it doesnt work on me, the semi-Tiger-Mom. I still calmly explained to her why we put clothes on her in cold weather, that I know she was upset, and asked for her help to make it fun. She calmed down a little, listened, then spoke ba-wa-wa-ah-ah-mm-ba-ba to me, as if defending her point of view. I was impressed with her verbalization, yet I explained my reasons to her again. Though she was still in discontent, her Baba was able to put the shirt on, and she saw that it was all good again, went back to happily playing with her toy. Tantrum of a 7 month old with strong opinions. So funny and cute. Yet so respectable. My Babycake is becoming her own person. Showing us and the world who she is, what she wants, and how she relates to the world on her own terms.
