Babys neck is looking fabulous now!! Took White Socks to the vet - TopicsExpress

Babys neck is looking fabulous now!! Took White Socks to the vet today for a bad skin condition. Every winter, White Sockss backend goes bald from her licking and pulling her hair out. This time, it was different though ... scabs on top of scabs .... but the FUN part was last week, i was given a cardboard box to take her to the vet in. LOL She shredded it, even with hubby trying to help me get her in and KEEP her in. So i bought a medium-sized plastic carrier for her. The small one was barely big enough for Baby (who maybe weighs 8-10 lbs). There was NO way White Socks and her HUGE front paw would be crammed up in that! (White Socks weighed in at about 14 lbs at the vets office). She KNEW something was up although id done NOTHING to give her any ideas. I vacuumed the living room, as usual, and then went to the lower room to vacuum it, as usual. The vacuum is White Socks boogie man! She DASHES out of whatever room its being used in. I _knew_ she was in the lower room and figured she was hunkered down, under the desk with my craft stuff on, under, and around it. I purposely bumped the boxes, hoping shed run out. She DIDNT!!! So then i had to pull boxes out to crawl up under the desk and drag her out. LMAO Trying to get her inside the carrier was a job all in itself!!! :O Finally i get her in and she is MAD!!!!!! Screaming like ive never heard her scream and CLAWING at the little slits in the plastic, wanting OUT!!! Got her in the car and we went to the vet. Had to wait about 15 minutes - apparently some dog had a serious problem. The owner was in tears. :( Then we were taken to a room and waited some more. When the animal nurse came to ask questions about White Socks, i tried to paint a good picture of how not-people-friendly she is; how scared of sounds, movements, and the sound of car doors slamming somewhere down the street. I fully expected not only the nurse to get shredded but even ME to get all cut up with that massive front paw. Didnt happen. At ALL!!! She was the PERFECT patient; patient with the nurse AND the vet too!!! :D LOL the vet tried to get her back into the carrier so we could go home and White Socks was NOT having it BUT, was far more cooperative than before. Got home, set her in the carrier on the floor and opened the door. She was HAPPY to be HOME again!! :D She was even in a good mood! LOL They gave her an anti-biotic and steroid shot and in two weeks, she goes back for a follow-up. In about 2 months, ill take CB to get neutered. *sigh* .... yeah, i am feeling like the crazy cat lady these days. lol
