Bacari grabs brace to send tally to four Published on Thursday, 24 October 2013 17:58 | Written by Sulayman Bah By Sulayman Bah Trading in the Bulgarian top flight, Gambian ace Bacari Njie has scored four goals in his first season. The 24-year-old left-footed striker single-handedly helped his club thrashed local league rivals Lubimets in a 2-0 win. Bacari acoounted for both goals of the game, slotting in an effort that nestled in the back of the net for the opening goal. Team-mate Simeon Raykov should have doubled the lead but Lubimet goalkeeper’s timely save denied them a second. The struggling outfit spurned three clear goal chances and were made to pay for their strikers’ profligacy on goal as potential Gambia Scorpions striker Njie put things beyond the opponents reach, slamming past the goalie having received a well executed pass from Ivan Konkonov. Njie, who, was acquired by Spanish Laliga club Espanyol early last year, increases his goal tally to four in the new league deploying mainly as the club main striker. Last season, he nabbed eleven goals for Spanish third tier side Hospitalite – a club he was on a season loan deal from Espanyonl.
