Brief Description - The Phor Pahn (พ) which was created by Luang Phor Yen of Wat Saparian of Chainat Province is believed to be able to invoke the power (energy) of our ancestors to assist us. Phor Pahn (พ), an alphabet of Thai language said to be representing Buddha, Dharma and Sangha created by Luang Phor Yen during the 2530s using joss-sticks and chanting string (sai-sin) for protection from mishaps, metta and especially for enhancing ones luck. What is the purpose? Is to get assistance from ancestors to assist us. Ancestors is ever willing to help and easier to make request from. LP Yen live a long life from B.E 2445 to 2539 and passed away at the age of 94 years old. LP Yen was ordained at the age of 21 and it was said that he further his higher Dhamma studies and vicha at Wat Rakang Temple ( Bangkok). One day, he met an old monk who visited Wat Rakang and needed some help , seeing the old monk looked helpless , young LP Yen offered to assist selflessly....& in return the old monk asked young LP Yen what he wanted most ? LP Yen replied that he wanted to rebuild his hometown village temple ,Wat Sapanrian in Chainat Province. The old monk handed over a Goat look-alike item called Phor Pahn Khao Maethi (พ) to young LP Yen and at the same time handed over to LP Yen the artistry and vicha of making this Phor Pahn (พ) , and told young LP Yen that this Phor Pahn (พ) could help him rebuild Wat Sapanrian. LP Yen started his efforts to rebuild Wat Sapanrian in B.E 2507 and completed it in B.E 2522 and these Phor Pahn (พ) were given out to devotees who had helped and donated to the cause.
