Back at it today... but the last few days have been a great break! One of many highlights: Our family got a new board game from Aunt Becky and we played it 5 TIMES ALREADY in 48 hours on Christmas Eve and the big birthday itself! We highly recommended this one, peeps. Why? -Only takes 30 minutes to play once you know it. You can actually play two or three games back to back if you have the time because it changes each time a ton. -The artwork is great and cards are very high quality. -Its a history game in a way, so teachable moments for kiddos. -Its a resource and civ building game without all the biased trading (trading is forced, rather than negotiated) -You can win a different way each time--resource building, trading, victory points, science, military, guilds, finance, etc, etc. Its like a computer strat game in its variety, seriously. I won 3 times of the 5 and each time won a different way. And one loss came to someone else who chose the same strategy as me and dominated me! -You can play with as few as 2 people and as many as 7 -Your success is dependent on what your neighbors are doing--so being observant and hyper-strategic is very helpful--although you can dive in the first time without knowing this. -Ive been looking for a casual family strategy game better than Settlers of Catan--and weve found it. I doubt we will get our 3 Settlers games and expansions out much at all now that we have this. -Its 10+ for age on box... but our 9 year old has played 5 times and even taught her uncle who has a PhD how to play (that was a great Xmas Eve moment by the way!) amazon/gp/product/B0043KJW5M/ref=as_li_tl…
