Back door entry & the parallel economy UIDs/Aadhaar Cards, Antyoday cards, BPL cards etc were ostensibly made for efficiency in administration and transperancy in ones legal, existential status in the country. One had hoped that, at least now the real and authentic, needy and the poor would see some improvement in their daily existence. It was assumed that the oft blamed middle men would be wiped out, and both the urban as well as the rural poor would get their just dues. Alas, this has not happened. Benefits related to the various schemes for poor, have been handled in different ways by different States; mainly keeping political considerations in mind. Delhi is one such State, with a lot of schemes for the poor. But it some how seems, that majority of the programmes are for attracting a larger vote bank. The result is that , now you have a huge migrant ,floating population from the poorer states, in Delhi. They are obtaining residence cards by hook or by crook, and are cornering benefits meant for the actual poor, just because they have the support of their respective regional pressure groups. After obtaining a Bank Account in a similar fashion, which is a mandatory requirement for the benefit- money to be transferred into; the newly important political class of BPL start their journey - into the exciting world of surplus money ridden economy! You better not be a spoilsport and spoil tbeir fun, by asking questions like, what is the definition and parameter of being below the poverty line, or what exactly is poverty etc. You can safely leave such esoteric discussions to the boring sociologists and economists. Well, then now will start the regular supply of moolah into their accounts. Who will keep a tab on what exactly is the source of funds which are being transferred into their bank accounts? How much is being transferred? Who is transferring it and for what purpose? We, as tax payers have to have a thorough insight into these dealings, which have all the bright chances of otherwise becoming wheeling- dealings. As they say, eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. The pseudo- leftists might start chanting about this attitude, as being typically anti- proletariat, but let us not forget that now it is the BPLclass which is not under the ambit of the Income Tax laws. This leaves a wide scope for back door entry of black money/ funds into unscrupulous accounts. Loopholes are left as just that, for the benefit of some wily elements. Baaki to Raam hei raakhey....
