Back from Delhi last night after a useful and interactive meeting with the Parliamentary Standing Committee. They gave a patient hearing and had a lot of questions. I was also told that i could not discuss what transpired outside. I did protest that proceedings should be open to public and media. However, since i dread the thought of being called multiple times to Delhi in case a breach of privilege charge is levelled against me, i am not disclosing the exact proceedings. It is about time some of these anti-democratic practices must stop. For a believer in transparency this diktat not to share details of a discussion on a transparency law is stifling. I would appeal to Parliament to reduce some of these requirements and powers.
