Back from Ironman Wisconsin and got my plans in place and activated. Not really sure who is in for next year but it will be joe, jeff, fred, tim, hubie, tony, grant, marc and me. Someone posted the average age is 56. Shit hanging around a bunch of old people. Most will be staying at crown piont resort. I have worked hundreds of races and never came away so stoked and really excited. I know we worked ironman Lake Placid but we were stuck in the med tent on a crappy day and did not see much of the race. A bunch of us were working Ironman moo, me on the bike course, joe life guard and bike in, grant ,jeff, tony were at bike in. What a amazing race this is. After our meetings on job assignments sat. joe and I went for a swim at the race site then rode 1 lap of the bike course in 90 degree heat. I know I did the race last year without checking out the race course before hand. [ and payed for it] This one hard bike course. I needed to ride the course so I can make changes to my bike [wrong gearing last year] and training plan. Last year ran a low gear of 39/25 and suffered. Sat. ran a 39/28 and that worked really well except for the two big long hills. So going to try a compact crank with a 28 on the rear.Jeff showed us the run course layout during the race sun. I ran it last year and did not realize the the 2 turn arounds and the finish were only 4 blocks apart. There is no way you can go and watch this race without getting pumped up. I highly recommend going and wacting this race. And while you are there volunteer you will love it.r
