Back from the vet. I left Bluebell there. She will be - TopicsExpress

Back from the vet. I left Bluebell there. She will be anaesthesized so that Dr. Gray can get a really good look at her mouth and do a biopsy of the site as well in case there is a more serious issue at work there, such as cancer. We dont know what the abscess looked like that prompted the removal of that tooth so there is always a possibility that was thought to be a burst abscess may have been an ulcerated tumor. Either way, her condition has gotten worse over the last week. She has not been eating well and in the last two days since I scheduled her appointment, she had stopped eating almost altogether; she lost about a pound since her first appointment in October. Her left eye has become very red and swollen and her left cheek is very swollen too. Shes in discomfort for sure. She definitely has an infection but I want to make sure that the wound left behind by the tooth extraction looks all right and is not in a state to cause future infections. A huge sigh of relief though; she was tested for FIV/FLV as she had not been tested before to my knowledge and that came back negative. We had a few tense moments waiting because both Dr. Gray and I theorized that one reason why she was so anemic and why she bled so badly was because she was positive for one of those. Otherwise, we cant really figure out why she bled so much during the tooth extraction. Unless the clinic down there somehow nicked a blood vessel? Anyway, thank you for your kind thoughts. The little lady definitely needs prayers.
