Back home after an extraordinary day shopping, extraordinary for me. For the first time since Laing died I have done some serious household shopping. I have been looking for black 100% cotton bed linen. Ikea came up with the goods. But they also had the most eye catching red bed clothes. They had it in the right bed size, pillow cases, duvet cover, fitted sheet and - oh bugger, not flat sheet. Ill have to go back for the flat sheet. Then on to Homebase, two shower curtains (still selling the same pattern, thank goodness) and they had cup hooks as well (for hanging cups from, of course). I needed to go to Waitrose today as tomorrow is already booked up. Nearly everything I wanted was on the shelves (a miracle) including, and especially, Lindts medicinal 95% choc. After 5 hours on the road, I got home starving. Having hummus with freshly made carrot sticks. Why buy ready made when it takes no effort to cut irregular sized and shaped carrot sticks. I believe the term to describe them is funky. Almost polished it all off. There is great pleasure in simple things.
