Back home again and I got the bad news: I had a wisdom tooth pulled going on 40 years ago and it left a dry hole. I have a section of my skull bone exposed in the back because the gum never healed over that. The dentist looked at my tooth X-rays and basically went pale, it was evidently a dental horror story. He recommend I have the remainder pulled and I should get dentures. No decision on that, I have about two weeks to agree or disagree. But the dentist says This upper right quadrant is all shot. We can pull all the rest of those and relieve your suffering. I said Im not suffering. He says Arent you in terrible pain from that loss of bone and all of that decay? and so I said with a steady gaze Ive lost approximately six inches of maxilla on that side and its nothing. Im not in any pain The movie cliché would be he would looks at me in a mixture of shock and awe and say JUST WHAT ARE YOU ANYWAY? So anyway, two weeks for me to basically decide I need to get store boughten teeth.
