Back in autumn 99 I traveled to Vietnam again, this time with my former US marine buddy Taro. Our mission was to pick up Col. Kurtzs path at Nhu Mong Ba, follow it, learn what we could along the way, and when we found the colonel infiltrate his team by whatever means available, and terminate the colonels command ....with extreme prejudice. But ...we ended up visiting other parts of this beautiful and fascinating country: cruising the Mekong Delta to Can Tho, the beaches of Vung Tau, Saigon, and for war history buffs, a tour up to the old DMZ and its Viet Cong tunnels, Khe Sanh combat base and Hue City, where old bullet riddled buildings still had the scars of the street fighting from the 1968 Tet Offensive. An unforgettable journey.
