Back in hospital. Tia is back in RVI Hospital for further - TopicsExpress

Back in hospital. Tia is back in RVI Hospital for further tests from her arms, legs and face swelling. We have seen the doctor and he thinks that she is losing water from somewhere and possibly from her kidneys. This will be confirmed in the next couple of days and when the blood results are back. He did say her alburem level is very low and they will give her some alburex medication through her central line. One of the looms on her central line is also blocked and this is being unblocked and can take 24hours. I did ask the doctor if her illness is life threatening and he replied saying that its nothing which we cannot fix so dont worry and we will find out what is happening within the next few days. He also said the medication should help the swelling but it is not a cure and only a temporary fix for now until they find out exactly what is happening and how she is losing water. He did have a puzzled look on his face when he first see her and it scared me but I now feel confident after speaking to him. Tia is still in a lot of pain and it is very difficult for the doctors and nurses to examine her as she will scream at all of them. Tia will get like this when she is fed up so to try and help I went to the shop and buy her a few kinder eggs (one of her favourites at the moment, only the toy as she dont eat the chocolate) so the doctors could examine her. But unfortunately this didnt really help. She is now sat watching Peppa Pig on the iPhone as there is no wifi available here and we forgot to bring the iPad. The doctor has said that he do not know how long she will be in hospital for but he did say that she can go home when she is fixed and that she shouldnt be in hospital for too long. All we can do now is wait and hope that they find out where she is losing water from and that it is an easy for them to fix. Thank you for following her story. Xx
