Back in my Bangalore days, I used to see that there was a rite -- a religious practice to worship sun during Kartik masha (end of October till November end). It was said to earn a place at Vaikuntham after death, one should worship Sun at Karthik Masha morning. Incidentally, Sun points toward the galactic center in the morning, during month of Kartik. Galactic center is perhaps one of the most mysterious and curious objects of modern cosmo-physics. Vaishnavs say that it contains the path toward Lord Vishnus navel. Some say that it is the Vaikuntham itself. Curiously enough, what on earth is it? Every galaxy is coined with a central black hole. And no wonder our galaxy too. The famous black hole is known as Sagittarius A* (Or SGR A*) -- a massive object which outweighs our sun by many a hundred thousand times. Did ancient rishis someway harness this black hole to rich out to some other galaxy? The creator god Brahma is seated to this navel on a lotus. Does the lotus petal symbolize the converging gravitational fields of the black hole? Does the lotus stalk represent EPR (named after Albert Einstein, Rosen, Podolski) bridge of a wormhole -- a shortcut to another universe? Does Vaikuntham represent a different universe?
