Back in the 70’s my mother Lydia ran Kelsey Creek Farm on the weekends. A group of local kids, including myself were the hired hands. (Volunteers) We’d feed the animals, clean stalls, rode horses & played the weekends away. Wendy & Tracy Thomas were always there. Peanuts & Bimbo the ponies (along with little prince), the donkeys, Pasado and his mom, Gerome the Raccoon & so many others. We’d milk the cows morning & night, have sleep overs in the barn in our hay forts. Ride (run our ponies through Bellevue) take the children on wagon rides & teach them about farming. I’ll never forget those days. I loved my Peanut, Gerome had such a special place in my heart. (Though he did love to yank the heads of the chickens, chew on them and then bury them). Some poor mother and child would then find a headless chickens body about 50 feet from his cage – chickens can still run when you pull their heads off… The time I drove our 62 VW in the pond and sank it, with Tracy in the back. She escaped. Those times where fun and awesome memories. What are yours of Kelsey Creek Farm. (I know a lot of you came at night, drank and tried to chase the animals. I was the screaming maniac that chased you out).
