Back in the day, because of the genuine love for music, many young men/women wanted to play a instrument, sing ! 1970s at Grant School ( Hilton Miller ), others, created beats off the classroom desk, wed beat box, later this evolved into playing many different instruments, depending on the individual. I remember Timmy Angel, Willy Roberts, ( Gentlemen Of Style R&B Band ), practicing in a garage, or basement ! The Reid, Miles brothers, myself, having jam sessions, learning to play instruments at a church on 6th Street & 13th Ave Rock Island IL., when no one was there ! Present day technology has made it easier to create music ( Beats ), as they refer to it today, and not learn how to sing, play a instrument. Theres many men/women, that are ( Superbad ) at this skill, I aint mad at ya ! If youre using present day technology to create beats, record, play live instruments, live vocals, I applaud you ! Keep up the good work, ( Pimpin ) aint easy !
