Back in the height of the summer of 1992 I was living on the beach - TopicsExpress

Back in the height of the summer of 1992 I was living on the beach in West Florida and pining over a woman named Melanie. At that time I met this woman named Joanne who imparted to the most important piece of wisdom that I have ever received in my life. Generalized, Joanns Axiom states: Nothing anyone ever says matters. If you want to know the truth, look at ones actions. Only ones actions reveal the value system of individuals and groups of individuals. That said, on the radio this morning, the first thing I heard when I woke up was that 150,000 veterans spent last nights very cold temperatures homeless. Funny how they never mention this fact on the glamorous television ads that tell our young people how great it is to risk their lives in an endeavor to take the lives of others because a handful of rich White (mostly) men deem it necessary. That was going to be the end of this post as I thought at the time the statement spoke for itself. But, while cooking breakfast I thought about the subject more and the truth within the truth came to me. That is that if we, as a society, intervene and do something to help these people then we are interfering with the wisdom of the market. That would be socialism--which we have been repeated told for more than 30 years now is evil. Just what are our values? Think about it!
