Back on the boat for the first time this year. Been at Dads since New Years eve when he went into the hospital. Hes doing great. Stayed over when the weather turned cold and then we took his car in for repair and then mine in for repairs. Twenty-one days passed rather quickly. I had a number of issues with my truck and the dealership quoted $1,600 to do the repairs. When I picked it up, the bill was just around $900 and the cashier asked me if I was military. I told her not since 1968, and unbelievably she gave me a 10% discount. Wow! So tonight, before I start back fasting again tomorrow, I rewarded myself with a trip to Cracker Barrel, and I wanted to pay it forward so I picked up the tab for a couple dining across from me without them knowing about it. Then I left a nice enough tip for the server that she caught me at the register and asked if I meant to leave it. (my daughter is a server). She asked my name and I told her Scott Herriott. Hes a FB friend, fellow hiker, and an outstanding hiking video producer..plus.. Its his birthday and he has karma credit in Alabama :D
