Back on the topic of (performance) replacement tires for my 2002 C5, Im still having trouble. The big issue seems to be the computer for the stability control system. It has set parameters to determine what is level and what constitutes a roll-over....if the tires dont maintain certain size limitations, the computer thinks the car is rolling-over and it shuts down the engine. My dealer inquired at GM if the system can be re-programmed...as suggested here...but apparently not. Newer cars, yes. Older cars, no. Shit. Heres the stock sizes and the modified size that I have found that works...but doesnt seem to be available in many brands. Stock sizes are 245-45-17 (front) and 275-40-18 (rear). Modified size that does work is 255-45-17 (front) and 285-40-18 (rear). Anyone got anything to add ?
