Back to School Safety/ Enforcement (Fayetteville, NC) – On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, all Cumberland County Schools will be back in session and the Fayetteville Police Department will be patrolling school zones and neighboring streets to help enforce and reduce speeding as students enter into the 2014/2015 School Year. In addition to the enforcement of speeding in a school zone, officers will also be watching for motorists that pass a stopped school bus. The consequences of passing a stopped school bus are inherently dangerous for a child that may be preparing to cross the road, as well as the fine and insurance penalties.
