Back to our Africa trip...after the experience at the Maasai Boma, - TopicsExpress

Back to our Africa trip...after the experience at the Maasai Boma, or family home, we went for lunch and an afternoon at Mto Wa Mbu, or the Mosquito River. This area is now a community of villagers who collectively grow crops, carve wood as artists, paint and more. We ate lunch prepared by the local villagers for us, using local food, prepared in local methods. It was delicious! They grow bananas, pineapples, Okra and more. We saw Ebony wood, and other wood carvings, oil paintings and we bought one from a local artist (original art, amazingly inexpensive) but the children of the village were the highlight for my family. A wonderful highlight of our trip and a surprisingly wonderful afternoon. mtowambuvillage.tripod/ Larry Stanleigh, Tina Gohill Stanleigh, Isabel Stanleigh, Mara Stanleigh, Idrissah Malick Mshana Click on the photos to get more descriptions about the individual pictures
