Back to work Jose Mourinho oversaw the first training session of pre-season at Cobham earlier today (Wednesday) as those players not involved in the World Cup returned from their summer breaks. Having arrived at the training ground around lunchtime, the group headed out on to the pitch later in the afternoon under the watchful eye of the Portuguese and his coaching staff. Those players regularly involved with the first team squad, such as John Terry , Mark Schwarzer , Branislav Ivanovic, Nemanja Matic, Mohamed Salah and Demba Ba all trained, along with the likes of Marco van Ginkel , Nathan Ake and Oriol Romeu, who spent last season on loan at Valencia. Petr Cech was back in training following the shoulder injury he sustained towards the end of last season. There were also a couple of new additions in the form of Mario Pasalic, the 19-year-old midfielder who completed his move to Stamford Bridge from Hajduk Split earlier in the day, and Kurt Zouma, who spent the second half of last season on loan at St. Etienne after joining the Blues The group was made up of returning loanees, such as Chalobah , Patrick Bamford,Todd Kane and Lucas Piazon, along with youngsters Lewis Baker, John Swift, Dominic Solanke, Isaiah Brown and Jay Dasilva. The session began with a light jog followed by a stretching routine, before the players were split into teams for a series of exercises using the ball. The players will undergo double sessions tomorrow and on Friday, with our first friendly taking place next Wednesday away at Wycombe Wanderers.
