Background: Rwanda Education Board Community Organization is a regional voluntary Organization established in 2012 by M/s Christina Kilby in consultation with her Precious friends like Mr Alex Marcso all from USA and in Coordination with some Regional School Based mentors working in Rwanda; other Community people around East Africa with the View of helping Poor communities in 2013-2030 to articulate the voice of rural poor Communities in East Africa on issues relating to poverty, disadvantaged and Equality, water and sanitation, Education and health, Environmental protection, HIV/AIDS prevention, Human Rights and Good Governance principles. Its is a membership Organization and is managed by a voluntary Board of Directors, Four community representatives from each country make up the main component of the network board across East Africa Statutory, voluntary, farming, environmental, a cross border and other sectoral group making up the rest. Rwanda Education Board Community Organization adopts a community development approach to its work and feels to employ a team of staff with a broad spectrum of skills. OUR VALUES: Social Justice: Promoting fairness, equality and Equity of opportunity and access,challenging discrimination (in all its forms) eradicating poverty and Valuing diversity. Self Determination: Recognizing that every community has the right to determine its own needs and have these needs recognized, raising people`s awareness of the choices open to them, empowering communities to take action, remove Genocide Ideology, and valuing the concerns or issues that the communities identify. Working and Learning Together: Collective working, ensuring all views are heard, listening, sharing, respect and fairness, showing that working together can achieve more. Sustainable communities: Keeping the activity going , investing in individuals and groups to keep initiatives going long term, empowering and leaving skills in communities whilst making and maintaining links to the winder society. Participation: Ensuring that everyone has the right to full participation in decision-making process that affect their lives, increasing access to do so through mobilization, sensitization,and by removing barriers and creating opportunities to influence/take part. Reflective Practice: Encouraging time out to review ways of working, learning from experience and success, sharing learning and responding to change. OUR VISION: Our vision is of Vibrant, Articulate, inclusive and sustainable rural communities across East Africa contributing to a prosperous, Equitable, Peacefully and sustainable society especially those that were affected by Genocide in Rwanda. OUR MISSION: Our mission stems at providing an effective Voice for and Support to rural poor communities, particularly those that are most disadvantaged socially, morally and Economically.
