Bad but could be worse. My cat woke me up at 3:00 this morning and took me to the other end of the house which was flooded. The hot water line under the kitchen sink had broken and I was standing in abiout an inch of water. Took a coulpe hours to get the water up with a wet/dry vac and several more hours with the vac on the carpet in dining & living room before ServPro showed up. So, we have six huge fans and a dehumidifier running for 3-5 days. The whole kitchen has to be gutted, floors in the kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room, and hallway all have to come up. Initial estimates are about $20,000 in damages and 2-3 weeks to complete. Then this afternoon the painter that was going to powerwash the house showed up. He drove up, and thinking about the rain that had just stopped and his plans to powerwash asked if I was ready for some more water. (He should get out of the hospital in a couple days.)
