Bad teachers are bad teachers and ought not to be allowed to hide behind seniority or other selfish union excuses. I was lucky. Most of my public school teachers were old-school, Grade-A, top-notch people who cared about their students more than themselves. After watching the debacle that was Wisconsin and its unions a few years ago, though, I am frightened for our childrens future. We have become a society of me first and that was okay until it became clear that many other countries had long passed us in academic standards. I am sooooooo sorry that you arent happy with working 8 months a year with paid everything else. You will never get rich being a teacher but you will be affecting (God, I wish that Mrs. Partidge had FB so she could see that I know the difference between affecting and effecting) the lives of every child that is entrusted into your hands.
